The house is quiet, the kids are at school. I should be cleaning the bathrooms but here I am blogging.

The beautiful Carlsbad Flower Fields

Ashley at Del Mar beach with Flat Stanley( will explain later)

Emilee making bagel glasses at Panera

Day by the Bay at Mission Bay on the hottest Sunday of the Year so far.

Flat Stanley and the girls at Balboa Park.

OK for those of you who don't know about flat Stanley here is the info. He is a paper boy who was made by our friends Nathan and Logan in Allentown,Pa. Their kindergarten class made Flat Stanley's to send to friends and family around the country to explore different places. We took pictures and collected brochures from our wonderful city and sent Flat Stanley back to report on all the great things he did while visiting us in San Diego.
Finally, we have Flat Stanley and the girls at the Zoo with some large creatures. While looking at the new bug exhibit I really was reminded at God's sense of humor. He created some unusual creatures. Have you seen some of the amazingly weird bugs and not to mention the very strange naked mole rat. That animal always makes my girls laugh. Oh, by the way at the zoo this past weekend while looking at the Osolote ( spelling??) cat we got sprayed by him...gross...keep your distance. Ironically, I was reading the spray warning sign when it happened. It was just a drop but still pretty gross.

Monday

Yes, today is Monday, well at least for a few more hours. My day began with carpooling the kids to school and then yeah!!!! off to the dentist for me. I have a food trap that was created a few years ago after I had a crown put on and my dentist at the time did not fix the problem. Well I did not know it was a problem until I began eating. Everything I eat gets stuck in the trap ( the space between my two teeth is too wide) pain in the rear I tell you. Although it did force me to floss. Anyhow so my new dentist...LOVE HIM...RGB Dental in RB. He is the best!!! He fixed my trap the easy way by adjusting a filling behind the crown, the alternative was taking out the crown and starting over, no thanks. After a few shots of the "good stuff" (it took me almost 40 mins to get numb) some simple drilling and a little filling --DONE! I ate soft things today and drank a smoothie so I will not know if the trap has vanished until tomorrow.

What else did I do today?, you ask
trip to Vons, trained with Francine at the Y and cooked a soft dinner of pasta and applesauce, gave the girls a shower and tucked them in. Oh I got a new pair of jeans. After the dentist I thought I deserved something for myself. Not sure if the jeans are a keeper though.

How was your Monday?

7 random things about me

Thanks Susie i just love being "tagged"!!!
OK let me see if I can think of 7 things.
  1. I was born in the same hospital as my hubby, Chris, 7 days after him.
  2. I have a really hard time finding jeans that fit me.
  3. After lunch and dinner i have to eat something sweet.
  4. One of my teeth has a twin tooth growing on it...i forget what the correct name for it is. The dentist is always thrilled when he sees it.
  5. Speaking of the dentist...growing up I went to one that did not use Novocaine. All of my fillings were done without! and I have many of them. I did not even know that there was such a thing.
  6. I am afraid of the ocean and only like to go in up to my knees. I have seen too many JAWS movies.
  7. Before my parents named me Rebecca, I was almost a Rachael. Thanks mom

  • new recipe

Ten on Tuesday

  1. I am taking a cleaning break and decided to blog a bit while Ashley watches a movie.
  2. I really just want to close my eyes and take a nap, it must be this dreary weather.
  3. I saw that there is more rain on the way tomorrow night into Thursday..if anyone is wondering.
  4. It figures, the day that my family comes to sunny San Diego, it rains!
  5. I learned an interesting fact about myself this morning while I was walking around the neighborhood. I like to see what people have hanging out of their recycling bins. I think it is fun to see what bulk snacks I am missing out on from Costco. Lots of my neighbors like the Costco pizza and drink the Kirkland water....
  6. ....which I recently learned is filtered drinking water NOT spring water.
  7. Hey, the sun is coming out!!
  8. My goal this year has been to cook more. So far so good. We still eat out about once or twice a week.
  9. Tonight I am planning on making meatloaf. I love it, but I can't remember if my kiddos do. We will find out.
  10. GOD IS GOOD! ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD! Random thought I know but so true. Have a blessed day
