Undefeated!!!

I have to confess that I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and I have been since I was in elementary school. Notice the old school jerseys...Troy Aikman and Emmit Smith were the best!!! Since I am from Pennsylvania I grew up surrounded by the biggest Eagle fans ever. It was always fun for me to cheer for the cowboys while my dad, brother, uncle, and grandparents screamed for the Eagles.

While the Chargers are on a losing streak the girls are having fun helping mom and dad cheer on the 4 and 0 Cowboys!! However, we have not given up on San Diego yet. Go Bolts!!

I know I am getting old when...

  • I am ready for bed before 10
  • I find several gray hairs on my head
  • my eyes are growing tired and I can't see well out of my left eye (I have always had 20/20).... trip to the eye doctor next week is already planned
  • I start saying "remember when we had to walk to school every day, when the snow was 3 feet high and it was pouring down rain"
  • I can't do a cartwheel because it hurts too much

Good News and Bad News

For all of you out there who have been following my drama with the oven, thanks for listening.
Sears arrived bright and early this morning ( we were the 1st appointment) and in 30 minutes fixed the oven!!!
So the good news obviously is that I have a working oven.
The bad news is that I have no more excuses to eat out.

Ten on Tuesday

  1. Are you ready for some football? The San Diego Chargers may not be at their best these last few weeks but the Dallas Cowboys are 3 -0 !!!
  2. Carpooling Rocks
  3. Will the oven be fixed tomorrow? Can I finally after a long wait bake some blueberry muffins and lasagna roll ups?
  4. What did I do before we had Tivo? The girls have plenty of shows to watch after school and on the weekends when we need just to be still and veg.
  5. With 2 girls in school our calendar is filling up quickly and it is not even the holiday season yet.
  6. This same time last year we moved. This next house will be the 6Th house in 11 years of marriage. No, we are not even in the military. I think our new home is keeper .
  7. I should be a pro at packing since we move so often....how about a pro at collecting boxes and letting them just sit around and be part of the decor.
  8. Ashley is waking up from a nap and needing a snack.
  9. Emilee will be dropped off in a few minutes and the sibling rivalry begins!!
  10. I need a Starbucks!!!

Take out again!

After waiting all afternoon and into the early evening for a Sears service call to repair our oven, we still have a broken oven.
Our landlord set us up with the appointment and the parts were supposed to be ordered. At 6:15 Sears arrives without even knowing about the parts. What a mess!!!
Next week they come again...with the parts to do the repair.
So another night of take out but I am not complaining.

Blessings

I will bless the Lord at all times Psalm 34:1

Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8

I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be a shower of blessings. Ezekiel 34:26

While drying my hair this morning, I was thanking God for all of the blessings in my life. Here are just a few of the many blessings that God has showered down upon me.

  • the gift of Jesus and His love for me

  • amazing friends who pray for you and with you

  • trials God allows so I can grow closer to Him

  • smiles, hugs, and I love yous from our 2 girls

  • my mom is coming for a visit next month

  • a few hours of quiet before the storm of fighting sisters begins

  • a devoted husband who loves his family and always provides for us

  • being able to stay home with the girls and not have to work

  • living in beautiful San Diego

What are the many blessings in your life the God has showered down on you?

Just a little review

With my camera batteries dead again, I can not add any new photos tonight. I have got to find those rechargeables!!

After the first full week of school for both the girls I can see the eyelids getting droopy by dinner time. My need for some extra caffeine begins around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. This was not a good week to begin to give up on Diet Pepsi.

This weekend we went to the Poway Days Parade and that was a lot of fun. Emilee and Ashley especially enjoyed the cheerleaders and the candy that was throw from the floats.

Today I bought some blueberry muffin mix and took is out and began to collect the ingredients to make them. Foolish me somehow forgot that I could not bake them.

Good news for us...Sears is coming this week to fix the oven!!!!

Seaworld

I love living here in San Diego. I can never say that there is nothing to do. The girls and I spent a afternoon enjoying Sea World while Daddy was at the Chargers Game.
Check out all the pigeons lined up to watch the Shamu show too.

My one and probably only 10 on Tuesday

This is for you Susie
  1. I think that I got a little in over my head when I started this blog. I hope that I can keep it going for my family and friends back in PA.

  2. I love the blessing of getting cards in the mail...it always makes me smile.

  3. Week 4 of not having an oven to use. The girls are missing the lasagna roll ups and stuffed shells.

  4. Did I mention that I have 3 child free morning a week now.

  5. Hubby gave Landlord 30 days notice. We will be moving out in October.

  6. I guess I know what I will be doing on those child free mornings--------PACKING !!!

  7. Corn dogs do not taste good when cooked in the microwave.

  8. Preschool has made Ashley a very tired girl. Three hours of play is a lot for a 4 year old.

  9. What am I going to make for dinner tonight?? Carry out sounds good to me!
  10. Shopping at Trader Joe's is great and even better when I run into a friend and her 3 darling children. Nice to see you Michelle!

That was actually fun maybe I will do more.

Today was Ashley's day

This was the moment that Ashley has been waiting for all weekend. Finally, preschool time is here!!!!

Disney Princesses

During the heat wave that hit southern ca we had our trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. Even with the thermometer reading 106 the girls had a dreamy time visiting with all their favorite princesses. Mom and Dad keep our cool because it is the Happiest Place on Earth!!!

Having lunch with the princesses was one of the highlights of the trip. Chris and I enjoyed the air condition and a refreshing iced tea while the girls got autographs and photos taken with their new friends. Ashley couldn't eat her lunch until all the princesses came to the table for a visit. That is her new smile, don't you just love it!!

Last year Ashley wouldn't go anywhere near these lovely ladies.

She was still afraid of Goofy so mom had to step in for this one.

Look who started first grade

School is back in full swing for Emilee and the task of making the school lunches begins. What will she eat today???
She is so happy to be back with her friends and the daily schedule of activities. Mommy is happy to have a break from all the sibling rivalry.

Ashley goes back to preschool tomorrow and she can hardly wait!!!! What will I do with my 3 free mornings a week?
